A rivalry is renewed and a team is back in action after a 12-day break this weekend in Kelowna.
Kelowna Rockets
Coming off of two losses in a row, the Kelowna Rockets are looking to get back into the win column against their rivals, the Kamloops Blazers.
The two teams are playing a home-and-home weekend, starting at Prospera Place in Kelowna on Friday night and moving to KamloopsÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™ Sandman Centre on Saturday.
Going into the weekend, the Rockets are sixth in the WHLÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Western Conference with a record of 21-21-2-0 record. Kamloops is 11-28-3-2, last in the west.
After the two losses, the Rockets are expecting a big boost to their lineup as Tij Iginla is scheduled to be back after playing in the CHL/NHL Top Prospects game.
Friday nightÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s game is at 7:05 p.m. while Saturday nightÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s is at 6 p.m.
West Kelowna Warriors
After a 12-day break, the West Kelowna Warriors are back in action to end the month.
The Warriors are looking to continue a strong season in the second half of the campaign, as they are second in the BCHLÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Interior Conference with a record of 22-7-5-0, three points behind the Penticton Vees.
On Friday, the team is heading down the Okanagan Connector to take on the Merritt Centennials on Friday at 7:05 p.m. Merritt is seventh in the Interior as they are 12-18-3-1.
The next day, the Warriors are back at home for the third annual Peachland Warriors night. To honour their fans from Peachland, the team will be wearing their speciality peach-coloured jerseys, in which they are 2-0 in (2021 5-0 win, 2022 4-3 win, both against Prince George).
The jerseys will be available for auction throughout the entirety of the game while the 50/50 supports the Peachland Lions Club.
Puck drop on Saturday night is at 7 p.m. against the Chilliwack Chiefs.
Kelowna Chiefs
The Kelowna Chiefs are looking to bring their three-game losing streak to an end on Saturday night as they welcome the Princeton Posse to town.
Princeton has already clinched a playoff spot and the Bill Ohlhausen Division with a record of 26-8-0-1. Meanwhile, the Chiefs are 12-20-3-1, fourth in the division.
Saturday nightÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s puck drop is at 7 p.m. at Rutland Arena.
The Chiefs are also at home on Sunday night as the Summerland Steam (8-22-3-1) come to town. Puck drop is also at 7 p.m.
