The Kelowna Rockets defeated the Victoria Royals 5-1 in WHL action Sunday night in Victoria.
The Rockets scored early and often as they collected four first-period goals to cruise to the victory.
Captain Rodney Southam paced the Rockets attack with a pair of goals.
Leif Mattson, with his first career WHL goal, Kole Lind and Nolan Foote also scored for Kelowna, now 13-10-0.
Michael Herringer improved to 11-7-0-0 on the season stopping 25 of 26 shots he faced as the Rockets outshot Victoria 32-26.
Kelowna is back in action on Tuesday night in Victoria for their second of two on Vancouver Island.
The Rockets next home game is Saturday, Nov. 26 vs. the Regina Pats.
