On Tuesday night, the hometown Royals returned the favour.

Matthew Phillips scored twice and added a pair of assists to lead Victoria to a 6-2 victory over the Rockets and a split of the two-game set between the B.C. Division rivals.

Kole Lind, with his team-leading 12th goal, and Devante Stephens scored for the Rockets who are 13-11-0 on the season.

Kelowna rookie Ted Brennan had first WHL assist in the loss.

Griffen Outhouse made 35 saves for the Royals, while Michael Herringer stopped 27 shots in the Rockets net.

Kelowna native Mitchell Prowse scored his first WHL goal for the Royals with just one second remaining in the game.

The Rockets return to action Saturday when they host the Regina Pats. Face off at Prospera Place is 7:05 p.m.
