The 2025 Montana's Brier opened on Friday, Feb. 28 at Prospera Place in Kelowna.

As the Brier enters its last day of round robin competition on Thursday, March 6, the last three playoff spots will come down to the wire.

In action on Wednesday, the first three teams clinched their playoff birth: Team Canada - Gushue in Pool A (7-0) and in Pool B, Team Saskatchewan - McEwen (7-0) and Team Alberta - Jacobs (6-0).

Team Canada - Gushue punched their ticket with a 7-6 win over Team Alberta - Koe in Draw 13 while Team Saskatchewan - McEwen beat Team Saskatchewan - Kleiter 7-2 in Draw 14 and Team Alberta - Jacobs overcame Team Ontario - Mooibroek 11-5.

But despite the fact they're all advancing, their seeding position isn't set in stone yet.

Pool A

Going into Thursday, Team Canada - Gushue holds the only playoff spot, but haven't clinched first place in the division yet. They sit at the top of 7-0 but Team Manitoba - Dunstone are right behind them at 6-1 after collecting two big wins on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, Team Manitoba - Carruthers (6-2) missed their chance to clinch as playoff spot in Draw 15 as they lost 8-6 to Team Manitoba - Dunstone.

Team Manitoba - Carruthers don't control their own destiny as they sit idle on Thursday and have to hope the play of the ice goes their way.

Team Northern Ontario - Epping also have a chance at the playoff picture, going into Thursday with a 5-2 record. They take on the 0-7 Team Nunavut - Latimer in Draw 17 at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Both Manitoba teams and Team Northern Ontario are battling for the remaining two playoff spots.

Perhaps the biggest match-up of Thursday is in Draw 17 when Team Canada - Gushue and Team Manitoba - Dunstone face off. With a win, Team Canada - Gushue will clinch the top seed in the division. If Team Manitoba - Dunstone face, they clinch a playoff spot and first in the division.

Pool B

Despite the fact that Team Saskatchewan - McEwen and Team Alberta - Jacobs have clinched the first two playoff spots, this division is where the standings get messy.

With just one playoff position available, four teams are tied at 3-3 fighting for the spot. The four teams are Team Nova Scotia - Purcell, Team Saskatchewan - Kleiter, Team Ontario - Mooibroek, and Team Quebec - Asselin.

In Draw 16, taking place at 8:30 a.m., all four teams are taking on teams that are either eliminated or have already clinched a playoff spot. The final playoff spot might come down to Draw 18 at 6:30 p.m., where Team Nova Scotia - Purcell takes on Team Ontario - Mooibroek and Team Saskatchewan - Kleiter takes on Team Quebec - Asselin.

Additionally in Draw 18, Team Saskatchewan - McEwen and Team Alberta - Jacobs take on each other, which could be a battle for the top seed in Pool B if Team Alberta - Jacobs wins their Draw 16 match in the morning.

Playoffs

The top three teams from each pool will advance to Friday's action where crossover play in a double elimination format.
