The West Kelowna Warriors mini two-game winning streak came to an end in the BCHL Showcase finale in Seattle.
On Tuesday afternoon, the Warriors couldnÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™t complete their comeback effort, losing 3-2 to the Victoria Grizzlies.
After Victoria went into the second period with a 1-0 lead, they doubled their lead when Cam Smith scored his second goal of the season 7:46 into the period.
The Warriors finally got on the board at the 16:59 mark when Michael Salandra scored his sixth goal of the season, assisted by Brennan Nelson and Jack Farrell.
Victoria regained their two-goal lead quickly in the third period as Oliver Genest scored 23 seconds into the third period. 58 seconds later, Jackson Kyrkostas scored for the Warriors, making it a one-goal game again but throughout the rest of the game, they werenÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™t able to find the back of the net, falling 3-2.
Goaltender Rorke Applebee made 13 saves in the loss for West Kelowna while Victoria goaltender Oliver Auyeung-Ashton made 23 saves in the win.
With the loss, the Warriors are 8-3-1 on the season. They remain second in the BCHL Interior Division, sitting three points behind Penticton.
The Warriors are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 28 when they take on the Cranbrook Bucks in Cranbrook. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
