KamloopsÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™ Logan Stankoven set to make NHL debut

Local product becomes second B.C.-born player to make debut this week

Kamloops-born Logan Stankoven will make his NHL debut tonight (Feb. 24) when the Dallas Stars visit the Carolina Hurricanes.

Stankoven, who will turn 21 years old on Feb. 26, played parts of five seasons with the WHLÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Kamloops Blazers before he was selected by the Stars in the second round of the 2021 NHL Draft.

The forward has spent the 2023-2024 campaign with the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League, where heÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s posted 47 points in 57 games.

Stankoven also played for Canada at the World Junior Hockey Championships in 2022 and 2023.

It was confirmed Saturday the Kamloops product would suit up for the NHLÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Stars, after forward Tyler Seguin was ruled out with a lower-body injury.

HeÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™ll become the second B.C.-born player this week to make their NHL debut, after SurreyÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Arshdeep Bains did so for the Vancouver Canucks on Feb. 20.
