A former West Kelowna Warriors forward has inked a deal with the Carolina Hurricanes.

Legault, 20, posted 18 points in 36 games with West Kelowna before heading to Connecticut to suit up for Quinnipiac University from 2022 to 2024.
In 79 NCAA games over the last two seasons, the Quebec-born defenceman recorded 33 points and led the school to its first-ever National Championship in
Legault was selected by the Hurricanes in the fifth round of the 2023 NHL Draft.
The BCHL graduate will receive $775,000 in the 2024-25 season, $832,500 in 2025-26 and $855,000 in 2026-27, if he plays at the NHL level. At the American Hockey League level, he will carry a salary of $82,500 for all three seasons.
His deal with Carolina included a signing bonus of $285,000.
