West Kelowna Warriors outmuscle Salmon Arm Silverbacks for shutout win

After a 7-3 loss to Salmon Arm on Friday, Oct. 6, it was all Warriors all night as West Kelowna beat the Silverbacks 4-0 on Saturday (Oct. 7) at Royal LePage Place.

Michael Salandra opened the scoring at 17:12 of the first period and the Warriors never looked back.

Salmon Arm had opportunities in the second as West Kelowna took three penalties, but with Landen Hilditch in the box for holding, Trent Wilson scored short-handed halfway through the middle frame to make it 2-0.

Felix Caron and Jack Pridham added goals at 8:49 and 12:56 of the third period to round out the scoring.

Warriors goaltender Rorke Applebee made 22 saves for his first career BC Hockey League shutout and received the game香蕉视频直播檚 first star.

Salandra was named second star with a goal and an assist, while Frederic Deschenes had two assists and took third star honours.

West Kelowna is in a three-way tie for first in the Interior Division (4-2-0-0) with Salmon Arm, Vernon and Penticton.

The Warriors host the Prince George Spruce Kings on Friday, Oct. 13.
