While the Canada Post strike may cause delays in mail service, Kelowna's Gospel Mission is ensuring that donations still make their way to those who need them most this holiday season.

After Canada Post went on strike during what Carmen Rempel, the executive director of Kelowna's Gospel Mission, calls "the biggest charitable giving season of the year,"  the non-profit needed to figure out a new way to receive donations.

Each year, many people mail in charitable donations to organizations like the Gospel Mission. Rempel said that after the strike was announced, donors called her to express concern that their cheques would not reach the charity in time for the holiday season.

To ensure donations will be received and distributed to Kelowna residents who are in need in time for the holidays, the Gospel Mission is hosting a "Pop-Up Post Office" on Nov. 22, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. at #202, 1635 Abbott Street.

"As the cold winter months set in, this season of joy is especially hard for our unsheltered neighbours. For those facing the cold without a home, Christmas isn香蕉视频直播檛 just a time of celebration香蕉视频直播攊t香蕉视频直播檚 a time of survival," said Rempel.

In addition to giving in-person, people are able to donate anytime at  or by phone at (250)763-3737.

Donations made by December 31 are eligible for tax receipts for this calendar year.
