Major changes are coming to Kelowna香蕉视频直播檚 North End, as work kicks off this month on two utility upgrades to improve underground infrastructure.
Starting the week of Mar. 10, construction crews will get to work on Ethel Street between Weddell Place and Trench Pl., as well as just north of the Knox Mountain Park entrance. From there, work will continue east along Broadway Avenue and Trench Pl.
Some roads will be closed or have lane restrictions, but will be reopened as construction progresses.
The North End Sanitary Catchment Realignment, will upgrade the sewer system in the Ethel St., Bay Ave., and Walrod St. neighbourhoods. As the North End grows, the new system will help handle increased demand by redirecting sanitary flows, according to a city media release.
The Royal View Transmission Main project will install a new water main to bring more drinking water from the Knox Mountain Reservoirs. The upgrade will ensure a reliable water supply while replacing an aging pipe that currently sits on unstable ground.
Knox Mountain Park will stay open during the work, but parking may be temporarily limited. Visitors should look for safety signage and follow any directions from on-site crews. Scheduled events in the North End won香蕉视频直播檛 be affected.
The sewer project is expected to wrap up by fall 2025, while the water main project should be done by spring 2026.
