On Saturday, April 1, the Chamber Music Kelowna Society is hosting a free educational outreach program for students and adults called Musical Journey Around the World with featured artists Imani Winds.
The group will perform and discuss various pieces and musical styles throughout the demonstration. From 1 to 1:50 p.m. the public will have the rare opportunity to experience this awarding winning chamber ensemble up close and personal at the Mary Irwin. Doors open at 12:30 p.m.
Later at 7:30 p.m., the evening concert will commence in the same theatre. The program, Tradition and the Innovative will feature the Scherzo from A Midsummer NightÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Dream by Felix Mendelssohn, Carl NielsenÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Prelude, Theme and Variations from Wind Quintet, Op. 43, and Paquito dÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™ RiveraÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Kites.
Ticket holders can expect to hear North AmericaÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s premier wind quintet in an exciting and varied concert of the highest caliber states Lorna Paterson, CMKÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Artistic Director.
