Kelowna's Gospel Mission is helping its residents make the best of the holidays with a hot holiday lunch.
Chef Jeremy Luypen, kitchen staff, and about 40 volunteers have begun meal preparations for the lunch being hosted at noon on Dec. 21. for KGM residents and unsheltered neighbours.
"Christmas is about the promise of coming light and hope in the midst of the darkest of nights. This promise of hope is a dangerous one for many who access our services, and so we enter this season mindfully aware that it holds significant grief and loss for many," said KGM Executive Director Carmen Rempel. Lunch will include turkey, ham, stuffing, potatoes, and dessert.
