Red Bird swoops in on sale of Kelowna's Vice and Virtue Brewing

The two breweries are located down the road from each other

Going one, going twice, going three times... sold.

On Monday, Dec. 9, Vice and Virtue Brewing announced it will be closing its doors on Dec. 21, for renovations and will reopen in the new year under new ownership.

On Thursday, it was confirmed that Red Bird Brewing bought Vice and Virtue. Red Bird co-owner Perry Maxfield confirmed the sale to Black Press Media.

Maxfield is also the general manager of Cellar-Tek, which is located a couple doors down from Vice and Virtue.

The Red Bird owners get possession of Vice and Virtue on Jan. 1, 2025 and aim to reopen the newly bought space in the spring.

Black Press Media has reached out to the current owners of Vice and Virtue for more information, but has yet to receive a response.

It's unknown at this time what Red Bird's plans are with Vice and Virtue, including if it will keep the name or continuing to make the same beers.
