Emergency services at Oliver's hospital will be unavailable on Thursday afternoon, March 20.
Interior Health (IH) says the South Okanagan General Hospital's emergency room is closing from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
All other inpatient services will continue at the hospital during this time, the provincial health authority added.
Following regular closures over the last two years, including ones that lasted for more than 24 hours, this marks the first service interruption at Oliver's hospital in 2025.
Patients are asked to access emergency care at the Penticton Regional Hospital during Thursday's closure.
People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility, IH said.
