The UBC Okanagan Heat womenÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s and menÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s volleyball teams faced tough competition on Saturday (Nov. 2).
The womenÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s team fell in three sets (19-25, 22-25, 23-25) to the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack.
Fifth-year senior Amaya Perry of Chin, Alta. led the Heat with a game-high 11 kills, two aces, three block assists, and eight digs for a total of 14.5 points. Third-year middle Addison Witkowski of Medicine Hat, Alta. contributed 11 kills and 14.5 points.
The Heat are now 2-2 on the season, while the WolfPack are 4-0. The Heat will travel to Langley on Friday, Nov. 15 to take on the Trinity Western Spartans.
The Heat menÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s team saw their three-game winning streak end on Saturday with a four-set loss (25-22, 28-30, 19-25, 18-25) to the WolfPack, following a four-set victory over TRU the night before.
Seba Manuel of Kelowna led the Heat with 13 kills, while Jack Taylor of Winnipeg added 12. Setter Zach van Geel of Calgary recorded 38 assists, four kills, and seven digs.
The UBCO men are 3-1, and TRU is 2-2. The Heat men will also travel to Langley on Nov. 15 to play the Trinity Western Spartans.
