Raiders fall to Kamloops in season opener

The will be looking to bounce back this week after dropping their opening game of the 2017 Thompson Okanagan Senior Lacrosse League season.

On Friday night, the Raiders succumbed to the firepower of the Kamloops Rattlers in an 11-5 loss.

Kelowna goaltender Graham Cousins fended off 44 shots, while Kamloops goalie Mike Smith only faced 14 shots in the RattlersÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™ net.

Kamloops defenders stymied the Kelowna attack all game, not allowing any penetration to the net area, and consistently controlled the loose balls.

Pho Heng led the Raiders with a pair of goals, Jacob Illichmann, Joe Brown and Ryan Lindstrom added singles.

A.J. Lockwood paced Kamloops with a hat-trick.

The Raiders return to action this Saturday night when they visit the Armstrong Shamrocks.

The first home action of the new season for Kelowna is Wednesday, May 3 against Armstrong.
