The Princeton Posse continue to occupy the top spot in the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League, but the most recent hockey games resulted in one win and one loss for the team.
On Friday, Nov. 22 the Posse hosted the Chase Heat, playing to a 4-2 win. The following day, the Posse were at the Rutland Arena where they lost to the Kelowna Chiefs 6-3.
On Nov. 22, Chase opened scoring with an unassisted first-period goal by Lochlan Stefanishyn.
In the second period, the Posse scored a power play goal at 7:31 by Tyson Horiacha, with assists by Justice Loewen and Kayne Van Metre.
Josh David of the Heat replied with a goal at 13:36, with assists by Spencer Brazel and Kieran Strauss.
A Posse goal at 18:54 tied the game once more. Jackson Gush scored, with assists by Van Metre and Cole King.
In the third period, the Posse had two unanswered goals. Jace Shuttleworth scored at 16:12, assisted by Van Metre.
At 18:19, Jeffrey Stewart scored an unassisted empty net goal.
On Nov. 23, the game opened with two unanswered goals by the Chiefs in the first period. Jake Kessler scored at 15:57, with the assist by Owen Miller. Then, at 16:14, the Chiefs added a goal by Matt Saretsky, with assists by Matt Fraser and Luke Rishaug.
In the second period, Fraser got an early goal at 0:18, assisted by Rishaug and Kessler.
The Posse responded at 11:42 with a goal by Jalen McRae, assisted by Will Bell.
Owen Miller of the Chiefs added another goal at 14:37, with assists by Fraser and Chase Gutor.
Loewen of the Posse contributed a goal for Princeton at 15:14, assisted by Stewart.
In the third period, Ben Henshall of the Chiefs scored a power play goal at 14:35, assisted by Owen Ivanov and Ethan King.
Bryton Morrow of the Posse responded at 18:34, assisted by Horiachka.
The final goal of the game was an empty net goal by Jonah Kaiser of the Chiefs at 19:11. Sam Lescarbeau had the assist.
At present, the Posse are on top in the Bill Ohlhausen Division with 18 wins, three losses and one shootout loss.
The PosseÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s next games will be on the road. On Friday, Nov. 29, the Posse will travel to Revelstoke to face the Grizzlies. The game, at the Revelstoke Forum, is at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 30, the Posse will face the Sicamous Eagles at the Sicamous and District Recreation Centre. The puck drops at 7 p.m.
