Taylor Ward made the most of his first game in the NHL.
The Los Angeles Kings forward, a 27-year-old who played parts of three seasons with the Penticton Vees, scored against the Calgary Flames in his debut on April 17.
Ward is the son of Dixon Ward, a former NHL winger himself and current vice-president of the Okanagan Hockey Group in Penticton.
Dixon's emotional reaction to his son's milestone goal was captured by ESPN's broadcast in Los Angeles.
