'Matts' the way to do it: Kelowna Chiefs bite Coyotes in 6-5 OT win

The Kelowna Chiefs bounced back in style Saturday (Jan. 11) night, taking down the Osoyoos Coyotes 6-5 in overtime after a 5-4 OT loss to the Coyotes on Friday.

The Chiefs flipped the script in Osoyoos for the win in extra time on Saturday.

Kelowna jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first. Jonah Kaiser scored his third of the season, and Luke Rishaug added a power-play goal, his 14th. Osoyoos fought back in the second, tying it at 2-2 with goals from Nicholas Vopat (5) and Kaelen Halowaty (3).

The Chiefs answered with three straight goals. Matt Fraser struck twice on the power play, bringing his total to 10 on the year, while Matt Saretsky (9) added another to make it 5-2. Halowaty scored again for Osoyoos on the power play, trimming Kelowna香蕉视频直播檚 lead to 5-3.

The third period was a nail-biter. Russell Weatherhead scored twice for the Coyotes, including the game-tying goal with just two minutes left. That sent the game into overtime.

Saretsky came through in the clutch, scoring his 10th of the season just two minutes into OT to secure the win for Kelowna.

The Chiefs outshot the Coyotes 39-34 and went 3-for-5 on the power play. They香蕉视频直播檙e back in action Friday, Jan. 17, against the Sicamous Eagles.
