Former Kelowna Rocket goaltender Cole Schwebius has been named the the Canada West Western Hockey League (WHL) Grad of the Month for November.

A Kelowna native and former Rockets goaltender is excelling on and off the ice at the University of British Columbia (UBC).

On Thursday, Dec. 12, Cole Schwebius was named the Canada West Western Hockey League (WHL) Grad of the Month for November. He used his scholarship from his time in the WHL to attend UBC's Sauder School of Business.

He earned the November honour after going 6-0 with a .938 save percentage and a 1.33 goals-against average in that span. 

After playing only 48 games over four seasons in the WHL for the Rockets and Seattle Thunderbirds, Schwebius made the transition to the university game for UBC, as well as the Thunderbirds.

Since joining UBC for the 2022-23 season and putting up a solid rookie campaign, he helped the school capture their first conference championship in program history in 2024. 

Currently, Schwebius and his team are in first place going into the winter break with a 12-5 conference record, including an eight-game winning streak. Overall, he is 8-2-0-1 with a .913 save percentage.

In the last two seasons, he also earned the U SPORTS Academic All-Canadian honours.
