Three of the top 10 B.C. AAA high school girls volleyball teams in the B.C. play in the opening draw of the Vernon Panthers Interlock tournament.
The event kicks off at 1 p.m. at the Panther Pit with the host Lady Cats taking on crosstown rivals Seaton Sonics, and the Fulton Maroons face the George Elliot Coyotes of Lake Country.
The Panthers are currently ranked No. 3 in the latest AAA poll, one spot ahead of the Sonics.
The Coyotes are slotted in at No. 8. Crofton House Falcons of Vancouver are currently ranked No. 1, with the defending B.C.champion Sentinel Spartans of West Vancouver at No. 2. Sentinel defeated VSS in last year's provincial championship game, while the Sonics took home the bronze medal.
Vancouver's Point Grey Greyhounds are seeded fifth.
Three teams from Kamloops round out the VSS Interlock field Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥“ South Kamloops Titans, Valleyview Vikings, and Sa-Hali Sabres.
Each team will play the other six squads in the two-day event.
