Nanaimo Bulldogs sniff out semifinal win over Vernon Panthers

Defending B.C. champion Cats fall 16-14 to Nanaimo foes in provincial junior varsity football final four

There will be a new junior varsity B.C. High School Football champion in 2024.

Nanaimo's John Barsby Bulldogs rallied from an early deficit to edge the defending provincial champion Vernon Panthers 16-14 in a neutral site semifinal game played Thursday, Nov. 21, in Chilliwack.

The Bulldogs will meet the Robert Bateman Timberwolves of Abbotsford for the provincial title next weekend in Vancouver. The Timberwolves rolled North Vancouver's Argyle Pipers 44-12 in the other semi.

Ayden Stringer and Owen West had touchdowns for the Panthers, who went 4-0 in the regular season.
