To the editor:
Canadians experienced a terrible shock when a 30-year-old man drove an SUV into a crowd shortly after 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 26.
I say Canadians specifically as this aspect of the tragedy seems to be missing from the speeches and journalism surrounding this horrible event.
I do understand that it was a Filipino festival attended by folks whose roots are in the Philippines; however, to view this act to violence as only against a specific community is to diminish its consequence.
It is vital to remember that this senseless attack killed and maimed Canadians, our coworkers, friends, neighbours, and fellow professionals. Canadians.
A threat to any sector of our multicultural mosaic is a threat to all of us. It is time we stopped drawing lines around victims, effectively 香蕉视频直播渙thering香蕉视频直播 the targets and separating ourselves.
