Two former Okanagan residents are standing up for the Okanagan Rail Trail and have launched an ambitious fundraising plan.

On Saturday, July 15 long-time friends Kristin Postill and Brittney Page will meet up again in their hometown of Vernon for a fundraiser called Stand Up for the Trail.

Their plan is to Stand Up Paddle Board the shoreline of Kalamalka Lake alongside the rail trail to raise funds for trail construction.

香蕉视频直播淎fter living in 10 different countries over the past decade I have come full circle back to the Okanagan and never been more appreciative,香蕉视频直播漞xplained Page. 香蕉视频直播淭he rail trail will no doubt be a distinctive addition to our community, setting us apart on an international scale. The Okanagan isn香蕉视频直播檛 just a place to live, it香蕉视频直播檚 a way of life which the Rail Trail Initiative exemplifies it perfectly.香蕉视频直播

Postill and Page have set a lofty goal of $50,000 to raise in only a few days, but they are used to aiming high and succeeding. Page has played professional volleyball all over the world and led the Canadian National Women香蕉视频直播檚 team for two cycles. Postill spent many years as a professional equestrian show jumper, and is now working as an advertising professional in New York City.

Kristin and Brittney have been lifelong friends, bonding first in elementary school over their love for sports and fashion. They knew they had something special when establishing a dress code for their 5th grade basketball team centered around the super cool new Nike sweat headbands that had recently hit the market.

Having both grown up with Kalamalka Lake in their backyard, the rail trail initiative is very close to their hearts. Being true Okanagan girls, protecting public space that will encourage activity and further love for our valley is incredibly important to them both.

香蕉视频直播淲e really wanted to create something that would not only help raise money but bring people together in an active way,香蕉视频直播 said Postill.
