Sicamous RCMP are continuing to investigate a recent assault on a senior, with charges against the suspect pending approval.
On Thursday, March 13, police received a report of an assault at a rural property on Solsqua Sicamous Road, where the 75-year-old male victim said he'd been attacked by a male friend of his female tenant after confronting him about being on the property.
"The landlord told police he had been punched and kicked by the much younger man who then fled the scene," Sgt. Murray McNeil said in a media release, adding the victim was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries "which included a broken nose and bruising to his body."
Through an ensuing investigation, officers identified a 24-year-old man as a suspect in the assault causing bodily harm, though police have yet to locate and arrest the suspect who can't be identified pending the approval of charges.
McNeil confirmed that investigation into the assault continues.
