Salmon Arm man's death saves 3 lives through organ donation

20-year-old succumbed to extensive injuries from Oct. 19 car crash

After being in a serious car crash on Oct. 19, Miki Hatton, 20, succumbed to his extensive injuries on Nov. 1.

Known for always helping people in need, Mikiyas (Miki) Hatton continues to do so even in death. 

On Friday, Nov. 1, the 20-year-old Salmon Arm man suffered a stroke caused by complications from the numerous injuries he sustained in a car crash in the Rogers Pass on Oct. 19. Though his family is reeling from the loss, his mother, Sheri Doyle said in an email that 香蕉视频直播渉e was able to save lives through three organ donations in addition to his eyes being donated.香蕉视频直播

In a GoFundMe account established by his step-sister Taylor McLaren, she described Miki as 香蕉视频直播渃ompassionate, altruistic and noble, always working to lend a hand to those in need.香蕉视频直播 He demonstrated those qualities from an early age when at just six years old he raised over $20,000 for clean water in his home country of Ethiopia

McLaren added that Miki 香蕉视频直播渨as a source of inspiration for many and will forever remain in the hearts and memories of all who cherished him.香蕉视频直播 

The support received through the GoFundMe campaign, which reached $29,100 through 212 donations, will be allocated for memorial services and the family as they cope with their loss. 

Hatton said memorial services will be held in 100 Mile House on Nov. 16, in Salmon Arm the following Saturday, Nov. 23.
