The long awaited Bruhn Bridge replacement project in Sicamous is finally breaking ground with minor traffic delays expected to start next week.

DriveBC announced that road construction work will begin on Monday, Oct. 28, for a two-kilometre stretch of Highway 1 between Old Sicamous Road and Solsqua-Sicamous Road. 

"Expect random minor delays for site preparation and sign installation," the post reads, reminding drivers to watch for traffic control and equipment. 

A media release from the District of Sicamous earlier this month said they had been advised that full closures will not begin in October, and that the project management team and contractor Aecon have submitted a construction schedule and traffic management plan to the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure for approval.
