A man now faces potential charges after he was taken into police custody peacefully during the early morning hours of Friday in Rutland.
On April 20, at 9:45 p.m., RCMP were made aware of a dispute which had taken place inside a residence in the 1000 block of McCurdy Road. Police had learned that the dispute, which involved both threats of violence and a firearm, was between two individuals known to each other and had taken place inside their shared residence.
One of the two individuals fled the home as they called police for assistance.

Phone contact was established with the individual still inside the residence. Shortly after 3 a.m., after several hours of negotiation, the incident ended peacefully as the suspect exited the home and was subsequently taken into police custody without incident.
The suspect, a 38-year-old Kelowna man, remains in police custody at this time. He faces potential charges and is expected to appear in Kelowna Courts today.

A street in Rutland is all quiet today after what was the scene of a heavy police presence on Thursday night.
According to witnesses, at least eight police cars responded to McCurdy Road late Thursday.
Workers in a nearby business say the incident happened at about 11:30 p.m. last night, adding that a tenant in a residence appeared to be causing trouble and was arrested by RCMP.
This information has not been confirmed RCMP, who have not issued a statement at this time. The Capital News has left messages for the RCMP and we will update the story as more information becomes available.
