Prospective employers are on the hunt for workers in Vernon April 10.

The Vernon Job Fair, organized by NexusBC Community Resource Centre in partnership with WorkBC, is Vernon香蕉视频直播檚 largest hiring event.

Recruiters and representatives from more than 20 actively hiring companies and colleges will be at the Vernon Lodge Thursday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

香蕉视频直播淭his is an excellent opportunity to discover what jobs are available and what employers are offering as compensation and benefits,香蕉视频直播� says Lee Brinkman, NexusBC events and marketing manager.

香蕉视频直播淟ocal colleges will also be on site to answer questions and help provide career advice.香蕉视频直播�

According to labour market reports, the Thompson-Okanagan香蕉视频直播檚 unemployment rate went from 4.9 per cent in 2024 to 5.2 per cent in February 2025.

香蕉视频直播淎s the competition for jobs increases, job fairs are an excellent way to get in front of the individual who does the hiring and make that connection,香蕉视频直播� says Brinkman. 香蕉视频直播淚f you香蕉视频直播檙e looking for work or considering a career or job change, this is the absolute best place to be.香蕉视频直播�

Some pointers to keep in mind when attending a job fair: 

香蕉视频直播� Dress as if you are going to an interview; 

香蕉视频直播� Bring multiple copies of your resume;

香蕉视频直播� Know your schedule and be ready to sign up for an interview;

香蕉视频直播� Practice a 30-second sales pitch of your background;

香蕉视频直播� Be prepared for the question 香蕉视频直播� tell me a bit about yourself 香蕉视频直播� and practice your response.

NexusBC is still taking registrations from employers wishing to participate in the job fair.

香蕉视频直播淲e don香蕉视频直播檛 have as many employers participating as in past years, but we still have over 20 and that香蕉视频直播檚 a great number,香蕉视频直播� said Brinkman.
