Several hundred people gathered in Kelowna Sunday afternoon as the city paid its respects in honour of the 100th anniversary of the battle of Vimy Ridge.
An estimated 250 people were in attendance as a parade was held in downtown Kelowna, culiminating with the laying of two wreaths at the Cenotaph in City Park.
Prior to the singing of Oh Canada, an honour soldier addressed the crowd, speaking about the historic battle that was on Sunday.
Among those in attendance was Mr. Bill Haskett, the son of a soldier from the Vimy Ridge battle, pictured below.
