The Granite, with its 118 residences, is part of the one-of-a-kind waterfront community at McKinley Beach, said Greg Bird, who is developing the multi-family site. The 2.1-hectare evaluated parcel stretches 60 feet above a kilometre of undisturbed beach within the Kelowna city limits and will feature both condominiums and townhomes.

The first building will feature 64 units with a second 40-unit building planned.

Sales are now underway for the 18 townhomes and Acorn Communities will break ground at the site on Sunday. The side-by-side homes each offer two and three-level balconies to enjoy the view from the waterside, and easy drive-in access from the street side. Floor plans range from 2,200 to 3,000 sq. ft. and are priced from $730,000 to $795,000.
