With the lakes unavailable and temperatures soaring into the 30s in the Okanagan Valley, visitors flocked to Big White Resort to celebrate their 2017 summer opening weekend.

With free scenic chairlift rides on offer, a brand new pump track, live music, a free kids carnival and a Craft & Country Beer and Mountain Festival running throughout the weekend, the resort saw record numbers for the weekend.

Over 1000 people rode the chairlift over Saturday and Sunday, with plenty of Kelowna locals visiting alongside tourists from the United States, Norway, Germany, France and the Philippines.

Next weekend, Big White looks forward to welcoming guests to its in the Village, including a free birthday cake at 5781ft and a scavenger hunt to find 150 presents hidden around the mountain! The Bullet Chairlift will be running from Friday through to Monday for scenic chairlift rides and sightseeing.
