Michael Salandra played hero for the West Kelowna Warriors as he scored the overtime marker to win 3-2 over the Prince George Spruce Kings on Friday night.
After a scoreless first period, Trent Wilson got on the board, giving the Warriors a 1-0 lead. It was his third goal of the season.
The action ramped up in the later half of the third period as Jack Pridham scored his fourth of the season at the 11:15 mark to give West Kelowna a 2-0 lead.
Prince George stormed back to tie the game with two powerplay goals in 59 seconds. Kazumo Sasaki and Linden Makow each scored their first goals of the year.
The game went to overtime where Salandra scored his fourth of the season on a 2-on-1 chance during the 3-on-3 frame to give West Kelowna the win. Captain Brennan Nelson assisted on the goal.

West Kelowna outshot Prince George 32-21 in the game. Goaltender Rorke Applebee made 19 saves to earn his fourth win of the campaign.
With the win, the Warriors improve to 5-2-0-0, sitting third in the BCHLÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s Interior Conference.
Friday nightÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s game was Hockey Fights Cancer night at Royal LePage Place, where the team wore speciality purple jerseys and were auctioned during the game with proceeds going towards the Canadian Cancer Society.
On Saturday, the Warriors travel down the Okanagan Connector to take on the Merritt Centennials, who sit sixth in the conference with a 4-4-0-0 record. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.
