It's all in the hips for the West Kelowna Warriors as the team will looking to give the Brooks Bandits a warm glass of shut the hell up on on Friday, Nov. 1 as it'll be Happy Gilmore night at the rink.
The Warriors will be wearing specialty jerseys playing tribute to the famous Adam Sandler character and the jersey he wore during tryouts early in the movie.
(Fun Fact: one of the jerseys worn early in the movie is Surrey Minor Hockey jerseys).
After the game, the jerseys will be available for fans via auction.
"With the production of Happy Gilmore 2 on the horizon, we thought it would be fitting to celebrate one of the greatest comedies ever made," said Warriors president Chris Laurie. "Happy tried out for the Warriors and we are going to recreate his uniform. The entire event will be Happy Gilmore themed. We are going to have a lot of fun with it!"
Grab your hockey stick putters, Subway sandwiches, Ray Bourque jerseys, and gold jackets and head to Royal LePage Place. Puck drop on Saturday, Nov. 1 is at 7 p.m.
As of right now, there won't be a mini golf course with a frustrating clown. Thankfully, we don't have to wait 364 days until next year's hockey tryouts, or this game.
