For the second time in three British Columbia Football Conference (BCFC) seasons, the Okanagan Sun go into the playoffs with the number one seed and a perfect 10-0 record.
On Saturday (Sept. 28), they completed the regular season by burying the Valley Huskers, 60-14.
In the game, Sun running back Elelyon Noa set a new BCFC record. In the game, he rushed for 207 yards and four touchdowns. With the 207 yards, he became the all-time single-season rushing leader with 1,612 yards in a season, beating the previous record that was held in 2016. He finished the regular season leading the league in five offensive categories: rushing yards (1,612), rushing yards per game (161.2), rushing touchdowns (23), points scored (150), touchdowns (25).
The scoring started on the first play of the game for the Sun when wide receiver Jordayne Falconer returned a punt 102 yards for a touchdown. Wide receiver Gage Parker also returned two punts for touchdowns - 55 and 61 yards respectively.
Quarterbacks Marek Filipek and Liam Kroeger combined 16/21 for 197 yards.
The Sun get a bye week before the BCFC semi-finals on Oct. 12.
