Hundreds of people attend Remembrance Day ceremonies despite wind and cold

Hundreds of people gathered at the Peachland Cenotaph on Remembrance Day, Sat. Nov. 11, to remember and honour veterans, and those who gave their lives in war and conflict.

The names of 17 men from Peachland, who died in the First and Second World Wars, or serving their country, were read aloud as the crowd bowed their heads in the wind and cold.

Following the playing of The Last Post, two minutes of silence at 11 a.m., and a reading of In Flanders Fields, dozens of wreaths were laid at the Cenotaph on Beach Avenue as two small aircraft performed a flyby salute to the fallen.
