Kelowna RCMP have a person in custody after a truck was reported stolen at about 7:45 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 6.
A red 2021 Dodge Ram pickup was stolen after the owner left the vehicle running behind their residence in the 2800-block of Doucette Drive in West Kelowna while dashing inside to grab their wallet.
RCMP said the satellite radio company for the vehicle provided coordinates of the truck's location in East Kelowna around 9:15 a.m.
The Kelowna RCMP's Proactive Enforcement Unit, Police Dog Services, and air services worked together to attempt a traffic stop.
The lone female driver evaded police, damaged a cop car, and fled the scene at a high rate of speed.
Around 10 a.m., the vehicle stopped near Pacific Ave and Gordon Drive where the driver took off on foot. She was arrested shortly after.
The suspect remains in custody and is set to appear in court for multiple offences including possession of stolen property and flight from police.
