Kelowna and West Kelowna are on the provincial government香蕉视频直播檚 list of communities to receive housing targets for the next five years.

香蕉视频直播淲e are addressing the housing crisis with our municipal partners so thousands more affordable homes can be built for people who need them,香蕉视频直播� said Housing Minister Ravi Kahlon.

香蕉视频直播淥ur goal for the next 20 communities is to build on the work they are already doing, while they continue to implement the recent provincial legislative changes. This group includes communities that are doing well on housing and some that need to do more.香蕉视频直播�

The move is not unexpected as Kelowna, and other communities, have received millions in government funding for housing.

The province will monitor progress and work with the municipalities to achieve their targets, which will be announced this summer.

香蕉视频直播淐ommunities, such as the city of North Vancouver, Kelowna, New Westminster, and the city of Langley, are demonstrating how local governments should respond to their growing needs and are taking even further actions to achieve their goals,香蕉视频直播� Kahlon added.

According to BC Housing香蕉视频直播檚 new homes registry report, Kelowna was one of several communities that built more multi-unit homes than single-detached homes in March.

There were 70 homes in multi-unit buildings and 15 single-detached homes registered.

The province introduced the Housing Supply Act in 2023 and established housing targets for the first 10 priority municipalities.
