Downtown Penticton香蕉视频直播檚 newest clothing store Slow Current is holding true to its values and hosting a massive pop-up curated community consignment sale this weekend that will feature over 1,000 items from bags, jewelry, and shoes to vintage wear.
The sale goes Friday and Saturday from 11 to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 4 p.m.
香蕉视频直播淪o many clothes are unnecessarily thrown out each year (92 million tonnes worldwide) and the number of times a garment is worn is declining 36 per cent in the past 15 years,香蕉视频直播 said Susie Gay, co-owner of Slow Current.
香蕉视频直播淲e wanted to do a little something to help combat this in our community 香蕉视频直播 while raising donations for the food bank in conjunction to help mitigate the post-holiday declines that often happen.香蕉视频直播
When Gay put the call out for clothing, she couldn香蕉视频直播檛 believe the response.
香蕉视频直播淭he community response has been happily overwhelming, and I香蕉视频直播檝e already received over 1,000 items. It香蕉视频直播檚 a lovely mix of clothing, bags, jewelry, and shoes including pairs handmade in Italy, originally bought for $600 and selling for $100,香蕉视频直播 she said.
Gay said there are so many beautiful pieces and many still with tags on them.
There is everything from casual lifestyle, active wear, cozy sweaters, denim, suits, many jackets and a good selection of vintage wears.
Today, Thursday, Oct. 19 is the last day for drop-offs (accepting until 7 p.m.) and then the sale will run this weekend.
When finished, all items that have not sold/been picked up will be donated to Mamas for Mamas, Kelowna Karma Market, where struggling families can access anything they need at no cost.
Opening Slow Current fulfilled a dream Susie and her husband Bryan Gay had had for years: a conscious and connected type of store, with an equal emphasis on men香蕉视频直播檚 wear.
Slow Current offers clothing and accessories with a focus on sustainability, Canadian brands, and ethical manufacturing. They are located at 285 Westminster Avenue West in downtown Penticton (across from Pizzeria Tratto).
