A Kelowna massage therapist is banned from taking on female clients.
The College of Massage Therapists of B.C. imposed more restrictions Dec. 4 on Kelowna massage therapist Adam Lariviere. These new restrictions replace previous ordered issued by the inquiry committee on Oct. 12.
The college received a complaint against Lariviere on Oct. 17, just days after the first orders were issued. A second female patient reported a failure on Lariviere香蕉视频直播檚 part to maintain professional boundaries and engaged in inappropriate conduct.
A review of the complaint led the inquiry committee to believe the therapist香蕉视频直播檚 alleged conduct is likely to happen again.
As of Dec. 4, Lariviere has been banned from treating patients who identify as female and is required to post the prohibition in all of his places of work. He must also post a notice approved by the college detailing the prohibition of treatment on female patients in all of his workplaces.
Lariviere first had orders placed on him on Oct. 12 of this year following a complaint of inappropriate conduct with a female client.
The orders required the massage therapist to provide the college with electronic access to his calendar, including name and contact information of each patient. He has also been subject to random on-site audits.
