Kelowna Drag Queen raises $5K for Vernon Pride Society

A $5,000 fundraiser for the Vernon Pride Society and the upcoming Pride Week in Vernon

In support of the young but growing Vernon Pride Society, Kelowna's Freida Whales hosted a drag bingo fundraiser to help the 2SLGBTQIA+ advocacy group prepare to host its third-ever Pride Week celebration.

The sold-out , in combination with donations from supporters and local businesses, raised $5,000 for the Vernon Pride Society.

"These funds will enable the society to promote and support the local LGBTQ+ community and its allies through various events and initiatives," said Whales after the event.

Throughout the week people are invited to enjoy a variety of activities including karaoke, inspirational speakers, a parade and a lot of love.
