The Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola member of parliament is encouraging voters to choose Conservative candidate Kristina Loewen in Kelowna Centre.

MP Dan Albas made the endorsement on Oct. 7.

In an email he wrote, "Kristina Loewen's deep roots in the Central Okanagan, combined with her diverse professional background, make her an excellent choice for Kelowna Centre. Her 26 years of residency, experience as a mother and business acumen uniquely position her to address the challenges facing Kelowna families."

Albas added that Loewen's real estate experience will be valuable to tackling the housing crisis. "I believe Kristina will be a strong advocate for our community in Victoria. Her priorities are in sync with what Kelowna Centre needs."

Loewen is running against NDP candidate Loyal Wooldridge, Green Party candidate Bryce Tippe, and independent candidate Michael Humer.

Early voting opens on Oct. 10. Election day is Oct. 19.
