PHOTOS: Keremeos Rodeo packs the stands for long weekend

Competitors from across B.C. gave their best at everything from bull-riding to barrel racing

Even with additional temporary stands brought in, it was a packed house at the Keremeos Rodeo over Victoria Day weekend.

While there was distant rain, it was barely felt at the rodeo grounds as competitors from across the province and beyond came to show their skills.

The Sunday dance night was also a sold-out show, with tickets gone well in advance of the eveningÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™s entertainment.

Dozens of kids also showed up to participate in the chicken catch and calf scramble during the intermissions on the two main days of competition.

Locals showed up in force for the annual event, with more than ten entrants just from the Similkameen alone.

Other competitors came out from Oliver, Peachland, Kaleden, and other parts of B.C.

Ranch bronco riding made its second appearance at the rodeo after being introduced in 2023, with 22 riders over the two days of competition, alongside the other classic events.

The Keremeos Rodeo Association also held a silent auction over the weekend, with items provided by local businesses to help keep the event going.

Support from sponsors and volunteers is key to keeping the event alive.

The association is also planning to set up a 50/50 deal in 2025 to raise funds for new permanent bleachers.

Given the crowds that packed the grounds over the weekend, theyÏ㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥™ll need them.
