Do Not Erase, an exhibition featuring emerging artists and performers in their graduating year, takes over the Creative and Critical Studies building on the UBC Okanagan campus for 12 busy and entertaining days in April.
The exhibit opens this Thursday.
The building will be transformed into an exhibition space as Do Not Erase will showcase a wide variety of art media including live performance, sculpture, photography, drawing, painting, digital media and printmaking.
Individual students, now in their graduating year with the Faculty of Creative and Critical Studies, have explored various themes through a self-directed body of work.
A special reception takes place Saturday, April 22 where visitors will be able to discuss the pieces with the artists who will be in attendance. In addition to the display, dramatic enactments by students in the Interdisciplinary Performance program will take place in several rooms throughout the building.
Entry to these performances is by donation. The event will include free catering and music, and beverages from local wineries and breweries will be available for purchase.
The exhibition will be open daily (including weekends) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and closed for the Easter holidays with the exception that it is open Saturday, April 15. There will be additional evening performances on Thursday, April 20 and Friday, April 21. On those days, the exhibition will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.. The exhibition, and opening reception, is free and open to the public.
