Peachland Fire and Rescue is turning post-holiday clean-up into a festive and charitable occasion.
On Saturday, Jan. 4 residents are invited to bring their Christmas trees to the 10th annual tree chipping event at the Peachland Community Centre.
It runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and offers an eco-friendly way to dispose of your Christmas tree while supporting a great cause. By-donation chipping services will benefit Muscular Dystrophy Canada. Every dollar raised goes directly to help those living with muscular dystrophy.
Visitors can enjoy free hot chocolate to keep warm while exploring the fire trucks on display. Residents unable to drop off their trees can take advantage of a pick-up service. For a minimum donation of $5, Peachland Fire and Rescue will collect your tree. To arrange pick-up, call 250-767-2841 or email fireclerk@peachland.ca.
All decorations and tinsel must be removed before handing off your tree.
