Thunder and lightning could be felt, seen and heard in White Rock and across Metro Vancouver as a special weather statement continues to be in effect.
Environment Canada first issued the weather warning on Wednesday (March 26) for several days across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley. Thunderstorms and hail have been forecasted for the region, and that's exactly what was seen last night.
A freelance photographer for Black Press Media obtained footage from White Rock beach of lightning striking.
Strong winds are also in the forecast and hail getting larger for communities closer to the U.S. border.
Residents of the region were also warned about localized thunderstorms possibly leading to water pooling and sudden reductions in visibility due to heavy rainfall, which was also the case Wednesday night.
