It's a day focused on giving extra attention to your pets.
Isn't that everyday?
Well, according to nationaldaycalendar.com, it's National Love Your Pet Day today, Thursday, Feb. 20.
There are, or course, quite a few people who prefer the companionship of dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, fish, or even snakes and rats.
To celebrate Love Your Pets Day, you can:
Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥¢ bring your pet a special treat;
Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥¢ Take your pet for an extra-long walk (no snakes, please);
Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥¢ Watch a pet video with them full of cats, dogs, other critters;
Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥¢ Give them a few extra strokes with the brush while grooming;
Ï㽶ÊÓƵֱ²¥¢ Play their favourite game, or bring out their best toy.
Here at The Morning Star, should she grace us with her presence today, Maizie the office dog will get some of reporter Roger Knox's lunch without stealing it, as she usually does, and Miss Maizie will delight us all with her favourite game of taking a tennis ball, pacing around in circles, dropping the ball at someone's feet, and staring intently at it, then grabbing the ball before the human can get it.
Either that, or shaking her stuffies into oblivion.
You don't have to have a pet to celebrate Love Your Pets Day. You can visit animals at a shelter, or visit a friend with pets.
