February wasn㽶Ƶֱt just a month for love and romance, it was also a time to be kind to others.
Setting a good example of kind acts was St. Joseph Elementary School㽶Ƶֱs grade three class.
According to teacher Jessica Aitken the students wanted to hold a candy raffle on Valentine㽶Ƶֱs Day in order to raise money for a specially chosen organization.
㽶ƵֱThey decided they wanted to raise money for the Kelowna BC SPCA,㽶Ƶֱ said Aitken.
The children managed to raise $92.20.
Then on March 9, the class took a field trip to the Kelowna BC SPCA to present their cheque to the non-profit.
There they were given a tour of the shelter, met with volunteers and animal care attendants, as well as learned about all the pets awaiting their forever homes.
㽶ƵֱThe students are so proud of their hard work and are excited to share their act of kindness with Kelowna and the surrounding areas,㽶Ƶֱ said Aitken.
Each year the grade three class at St. Joseph Elementary School dedicates time to kind acts, by either giving a random stranger a smile or helping someone or an organization in need.
