Hikers, bikers, skiers, swimmers, golfers, wine enthusiasts and kids are being sought to star in Vernon's next production.

Tourism Vernon is looking for actors for its new video, Our Best Guest, being shot during Vernon Winter Carnival.

A casting call is on until Sunday evening, Jan. 19, with online auditions taking place next week.

The 60-second commercial looks to celebrate and welcome the easy explorer, showcasing Vernon as a laid-back adventure destination.

The video will be used in nation-wide marketing campaigns.

"With a bit of humour, we navigate the world-class offerings in Vernon, but show it through the lens of travellers participating in the pressure-free, non-pretentious, non-competitive version," the call reads. "Whatever the activity, there is a version for the easy explorer, and Vernon welcomes it."

The call is for five adult main characters with different traits and experience, including a senior cross country ski couple, hiking Type A mom, easy-going male golfer (and a few friends) and a female wine enthusiast.

There are also supporting characters needed, including a couple of beach-loving kids, a mountain biker and male spa patron.

Auditions take place Jan. 20-23 with call backs Jan. 27-30 ahead of Feb. 10-13 shoot dates, plus more in May.

Rates will be determined based on role, character and prior experience.
