B.C. town not waiting for Mother Nature to have some snowy winter fun

Williams Lake adds snowmaking equipment to extend snow play season in its main park, if temperatures stay below zero

If you are a skier or a snowboarder, don't let the brown all around get you down.

Williams Lake now has some snowmaking equipment aimed at helping to ensure the features in the Cariboo city's Boitanio Park for accessible entertainment are more usable.

Riley Donahue was volunteering to test out the equipment for the city on Dec. 9 and was seeing some success in creating a little white stuff on the hillsides of Boitanio Park.

The equipment won't be able to turn a warm winter white, but below zero degrees Celsius, it can help provide coverage if things get thin during the season.

It will be interesting to see how the equipment can provide a little lift to recreational opportunities in the lakecity during the winter season.
